Tic-Tac-Toe
Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe — nine boards in one, win three boards in a row to win it all.
Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe on KingdomGames takes the classic game deeper: the board is nine small 3x3 boards arranged in one big 3x3 grid. Two players join a room, one is X and the other O, and the cell you play decides which board your opponent must play in next. Win a small board by lining up three of your marks inside it, and win the whole game by claiming three small boards in a row — across, down, or diagonally.
How it works
Join a room
Two players join with their name — the host can join as a player too.
Play and send
Place your mark — the cell you choose sends your opponent to the matching board.
Win three boards in a row
Win small boards with three in a row, then line up three boards to win the game.
Game rules & how to play
Objective
- Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe is nine small 3x3 boards arranged in one big 3x3 grid.
- Win three small boards in a row — across, down, or diagonally — to win the whole game.
- Win a small board the classic way: three of your marks (X or O) in a row inside it.
Setup
- Exactly 2 players join a room. The host can play too.
- One player is randomly assigned X, the other O. X always goes first.
- Optional per-turn timer keeps the game moving — if your timer runs out, the turn passes to the other player.
Taking a turn
- The first move can go in any cell of any board.
- The cell you pick decides which board your opponent must play in next — e.g. play the top-right cell and they must play in the top-right board (highlighted for them).
- If you are sent to a board that is already won or completely full, you may play in any open board instead.
Winning
- Get three small boards in a row, column, or diagonal to win the game immediately.
- A small board that fills with no winner counts as a draw and helps neither player.
- Play again resets every board for a fresh rematch — marks stay the same.

- How do you play Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe?
- It’s nine tic-tac-toe boards arranged in a big 3×3 grid. The square you play in decides which board your opponent must play in next. Win a small board by getting three in a row, and win the whole game by winning three small boards in a row. It turns a solved kids’ game into a real strategy battle.
- How is it different from regular Tic-Tac-Toe?
- Regular tic-tac-toe is easily drawn once you know it. Ultimate adds a layer — because each move sends your opponent to a specific board, you have to think several moves ahead about where you’re sending them. Far deeper, and much harder to force a draw.
